PHENOMENIA
The portfolio of a german web developer, Felix Hollenstein

About me

I'm Felix Hollenstein, an accomplished media designer for digital- and print media products since 2004. But my passion for the web goes some more years back. Since I was online the first time, I've been fascinated by the idea of being part of a global system where everybody's able to communicate and interact with everybody in the blink of an eye.

Since I read a tutorial in a German computer magazine about how to create an HTML page I've been very keen to learn all about that. And the fact that it wasn't too difficult and the results were nearly immediately visible was inducement enough to go on with that idea - until today.

Résumé

In 2001, after junior high school (Realschule), I started my training at Concept! AG / Ogilvy interactive in Frankfurt/Main (Germany). I finished in 2004. Then I had a little break of 9 months due to my community service, which I did in a care home for the elderdy in Bielefeld (Germany). But in my spare time I continued working on tutorials and litte web projects of my own.
After my community service I started working as a web developer at Burg GmbH, where I programmed the frontend of websites into our inhouse CMS (wecos). I also created flash games and flash presentations for websites and competitions.

Then, in 2007, after 1.5 years at Burg GmbH, I wanted to see something else of the world and went to Australia. I started working there as a freelance graphic designer for a couple of months. After nearly 10 months in Clifton Beach (near Hobart, Tasmania) I started driving around to see something else of this huge and absolutely magnificent continent. So I took the ferry ('Spirit of Tasmania') to get to the mainland and visited Melbourne and Sydney (just to name a few). Those three weeks made me realise that I will definitely live in Sydney one day. That city is just incedible! But back to the facts ;)

Back in Germany (in January 2008) I worked for a couple of months at a.b.media in Hamelin, but for operational reasons at a.b.media I left the company and went back to Bielefeld. Currently I work for Interrogare, a company which is doing online market research.

In June 2009 I founded my own company called Colibri Interactive, where I work on projects beside my mainjob at Interrogare.
